The Process Of Extrusion

Aluminum extrusions are processed from a location of metal. A billet of metal is forced through a die by a hydraulic ram. The extrusion is done by a hot process. This is known as direct extrusion of aluminum. The direct or hot process is mainly the best process with aluminum and is done by heating the billet to 700 to 900 degrees and the hydraulic ram pushes through with high speed. The direct or hot process can not be used on all types of metals because it will weaken them. Aluminum does not weaken and it can also be recycled several times. More info: Aluminum Extrusions
