What Is Plantar Fasciitis?

Plantar fasciitis, a frequent source of heel pain, occurs when the plantar fascia of the foot has inflammation. Plantar fascia is the thick strip of tissue on the bottom of the foot that joins heel bone with toes. Individuals often experience sharp pain in their heel and foot as a result of the plantar fascia becoming inflamed and plantar fasciitis developing. This pain is especially prevalent in the morning when a person first awakens and takes their first steps. The pain can gradually subside as the foot naturally becomes more agile during the day. However, if a person stands on their feet for too long, the pain could come back. More info: plantar fasciitis NYC
